Michael High is the FP&A Director of the Deepwater line of business of Royal Dutch Shell and is based in Houston, TX. With key assets in Brazil, Nigeria, Malaysia and the US, the Deepwater business is one of two key growth engines for Shell over the coming decade. In this and prior roles, Michael’s been integral in strengthening the partnership between global strategy, portfolio, planning & reporting teams to improve the coherence between external reality, current performance, operational plans and strategic aspirations. Michael has also been a key change agent, leading transformations efforts within the planning & appraisal community, and facilitating the post-merger integration of the Shell and BG business planning processes. He is passionate about looking externally for new ideas and actively driving continuous improvement. He is an advocate for digital transformation of the finance function.
Michael’s previous roles have covered front-line business finance, planning, budgeting, reporting, and performance appraisal in the global upstream, manufacturing and unconventional gas businesses of Shell.
